I’ve always been fond of a bit of boho, although the term has rather naff connotations. I think the key to a chic bohemian vibe is not to over do it with the accessories; too much jingiling jewellery can undermine the look. If I’m wearing a boho dress, I like to wear one or two bold pieces of jewellery. I love this silk dress by Me & Maya. It skims over my baby bump nicely, but will work post-baby next summer, worn with bare legs and tan sandals. I’ve styled the dress with a faux fur coat from Whisltes (similar here) and boots from Kurt Geiger.
I’m a little late to the party in writing about the Burberry A/W15 show, but I’ve been snowed under with work and only now can I raise my head above the chaos. Christopher Bailey’s last few collections have payed homage a past that one wouldn’t usually associate with the high end polish synonymous with Burberry Prorsum. The collection was entitled Patchwork, Pattern and Prints and payed homage to a freewheeling, late 60’s early 70’s bohemian attitude. The runways of New York, London, Milan, and Paris have been drenched with references to the 70s. There’s no doubt that a breezy bohemian vibe will be everywhere come spring. I’ll be getting in on the act early with folksy frocks that are bang on trend now. They’ll still be giving a lot of bang for their buck next summer.

One of my favourite looks was a tutu, a croupier’s visor, and an 80’s slogan t-shirt and a pair of wellington boots. I was three years old and this was the outfit I choose to wear to a birthday party. Another look I rocked was a victorian style petticoat paired with a fireman’s helmet. My creative grandparents were responsible for making my brother and I an array of costumes. Clothes created for play time became my everyday staples. I was lucky to grow up in a family where self expression was encouraged. Today’s look verges on the fancy dress, but that’s why I love it. I’ve been […]
